The Rocket Man singer revealed he was recording a new song when he began to weep after contemplating how much time he has left on Earth

The singer was overcome with emotion in the days before as he revealed he cried for 45 minutes while recording a song for his new album over fears he ‘doesn’t have much time left’.

On Friday, Japanese Breakfast released the lovely new album For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women). Next month, Michelle Zauner and her band will head out on a proper tour that’ll kick off with a pair of sets at the two Coachella weekends. As a prelude to all of that, Japanese Breakfast played a special one-off album-release show at El Museo Del Barrio in New York on Saturday night. They made a grand occasion of it.

The extremely fun Isle Of Wight rockers Wet Leg were a Stereogum Band To Watch in 2021, and they dropped their great self-titled debut album in 2022. Unlike so many of their buzz-band peers, Wet Leg actually took off, to the point where they were playing big venues and winning Grammys and whatnot. They’ve been quiet for a little while, but now Wet Leg seem poised to return with new music. They’ve been teasing new music for a while. Soon, they’ll play special small-room shows in New York and Los Angeles, and they’re also booked for a bunch of festivals this summer. On Sunday night, Wet Leg played a small Brighton venue, and their set was mostly made up of new songs.
